Title: Cloning of Humans bill
Vote Smart's Synopsis:
Vote to pass a bill that would establish criminal and civil penalties for anyone knowingly participating in any stage of the process of human cloning.
Highlights:
- Bans activities associated with human cloning.
- Prohibits the transportation of products derived from human cloning activities.
- Amends the Federal Criminal Code to stipulate that violators shall be fined and/or imprisoned up to 10 years.
- Establishes the civil penalty fine to be not less than $1,000,000 and not more than an amount equal to the amount of total gain multiplied by 2, if that amount is greater than $1,000,000.
