Title: Airline Industry Financial Assistance bill
Vote to pass a bill that would compensate the airline industry from the fallout resulting form the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
- Provides $5 billion in grants, and up to $10 billion in loans to US passenger and cargo airlines.
- Establishes a victim compensation program for those killed or injured by the terrorist attacks of September 11, and for their survivors.
- Limits airline carrier liability for the attacks of September 11 to the amount of insurance coverage they had for such incidents.
- Extends the deadline for airline tax payments until January 15, 2002.
