Title: Ban on Partial-Birth/Late Term Abortion
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits any individual from knowingly performing the procedure known as intact dilation and extraction, in which a fetus is partially delivered before it is aborted, unless the life of the woman is endangered by a physical disorder, illness, or injury.
- Imposes civil fines or up to two years in prison for those who performed intact dilation and extraction.
- Allows the woman's husband to seek monetary relief from the doctor who performed the procedure, unless he consented to the abortion or the pregnancy resulted from his criminal conduct.
- If the woman is under the age of 18, allows her parents to seek monetary relief from the doctor who performed the procedure, unless they consented to the abortion or the pregnancy resulted from their criminal conduct.
