Title: Small Business Superfund Exemption
Vote to pass a bill that would exempt any business with 100 or fewer employees and revenues of $3 million from being involved in "superfund" hazardous waste cleanup programs. Businesses would not have to participate as long as they dump less than 110 gallons or 200 pounds of hazardous waste.
NOTE: THIS VOTE WAS TAKEN UNDER A SUSPENSION OF THE RULES TO CUT OFF DEBATE EARLY AND VOTE TO PASS THE BILL, THEREBY REQUIRING A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY FOR PASSAGE.
