Vote to pass a bill that provides missile defense cooperation to Taiwan while expressing to the People's Republic of China the commitment of the United States to security and democracy in Taiwan.
- Calls upon the Secretary of Defense to investigate the possibility of establishing a missile defense system in the Asia-Pacific region for the purpose of protecting Taiwan from ballistic missile attacks.
- Requests that the President provide defense articles or services under the Arms Export Control Act to Taiwan, if the government of Taiwan requests such assistance.
- Declares the commitment of the United States to peace, security, and democracy in Taiwan and in the Asia-Pacific region.
