Title: Foreign Operations FY98 Appropriations bill

Vote to adopt a resolution that calls for $13.1 billion in total spending for export and investment assistance, bilateral and multilateral economic assistance, military assistance, and other foreign aid programs in FY 1998.
Prohibits any funding from being used to perform or promote abortions abroad.
Withholds aid to any nation that provides lethal military equipment to a government that is labeled as a terrorist government by the Secretary of State.
Excludes the payment of $3.5 billion in U.N. dues.
$3 billion for Israel, including $1.8 billion in military assistance and $1.2 billion in economic assistance.
$2.12 billion for Egypt, including $1.3 billion in military assistance and $815 million in economic assistance.
$770 million for former Soviet Republics.
$650 million for refugee and migration assistance.
$485 million for assistance to Eastern Europe and the Baltic states.
$225 million for military and economic assistance to Jordan.
$222 million for the Peace Corps.
$215 million for international narcotics control and law enforcement.
$190 million for international disaster assistance.
