Title: Bosnia and Herzegovina U.S. Troop Removal Resolution
Vote to adopt a concurrent resolution directing the President to remove U.S. troops from the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina by June 30, 1998.
- Recognizes that under Article I, Section 8, of the U.S. Constitution, Congress has the sole power to declare war, and that a state of war has not been declared in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Exempts from removal a limited number of military personnel stationed in the area in order to protect diplomatic facilities and U.S. citizens.
- Further exempts from removal noncombatant personnel in order to advise the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Commander in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
