Vote to pass a bill that changes requirements regarding rates of pay.
- Eliminates an existing labor law requiring employers to pay employees for their commuting time if they use company-owned cars.
- Increases the minimum wage rate to $4.75 per hour beginning June 30, 1996, and increases it to $5.15 per hour beginning July 1, 1997.
- Allows an employer to pay $4.25 per hour to an employee under the age of 20 years old during their first 90 days of employment.
- Exempts certain computer professionals earning more than $27.63 per hour from minimum wage and overtime requirements.
