Vote to pass a bill relating to facilitating compliance with the federal REAL
ID act by modifying driver's license and identicard design and fees.

Highlights:

• Requires the Department of Licensing (DOL) to allow each applicant to choose between a standard driver's license or identicard or an enhanced driver's license or identicard (Sec. 2).

• Requires the DOL to mark any standard issue driver's licenses and identicards as non-compliant with the REAL ID Act, beginning July 1, 2018 (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the fee for an enhanced driver's license or identicard will be $12 beginning on the effective date of this bill (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that if the enhanced driver’s license or identicard is issued, renewed or extended for a period other than six years, the fee for each class is $2 for each year that the enhanced driver’s license or identicard is issued, renewed, or extended (Sec. 2).
