Title: Reauthorizes Small Business Tax Deductions

Vote to override a veto of a bill that reauthorizes certain tax deductions for small business and authorizes small business to option out of E-Verify if it is too costly.

Highlights:

  • Reauthorizes 2011 tax deductions for small businesses in the following amounts (Sec. A):
    • $10,000 for each new job created with a salary of at least the county average wage; and
    • $20,000 for each new job created with a salary of at least the county average wage and offers health insurance with at least 50% of the premiums paid.
  • Authorizes small businesses contracting with the state to forego participation in a federal work authorization program, or E-Verify, if participation would result in substantial difficulty or expense (Sec. A).
