Vote to pass a bill that authorizes use and manufacture of medical marijuana-infused products.

Highlights:

  • Authorizes a qualifying patient with a valid registry identification card to possess up to a combined total of 2.5 ounces of usable marijuana and usable marijuana equivalents (Sec. 4).  
  • Specifies 1 ounce of usable marijuana to be equivalent to the following forms (Sec. 4): 
    • 16 ounces of “marijuana-infused product” if in a solid form; 
    • 7 grams of “marijuana-infused product” if in a gaseous form; or 
    • 36 fluid ounces of “marijuana-infused product” if in a liquid form.  
  • Defines “marijuana-infused product” as a non-smokable product that contains marijuana and is intended for human consumption (Sec. 3).  
  • Specifies that a qualifying patient or a registered primary caregiver is authorized to manufacture a marijuana-infused product and cultivate marijuana for the patient’s personal use (Sec. 4). 
  • Prohibits a qualifying patient or a primary caregiver from transferring a marijuana-infused product or marijuana to any individual (Sec. 4). 
  • Specifies that a qualifying patient or a registered primary caregiver will be able to transfer and purchase an authorized amount of marijuana, transfer and sell marijuana seeds to a licensed grower, and transfer marijuana for testing to a licensed facility (Sec. 4).   
  • Prohibits a qualifying patient or a primary caregiver from transporting or possessing a marijuana-infused product in or upon a motor vehicle, unless the product is properly sealed, labeled with the proper information, and enclosed in a case that is not readily accessible from the interior (Sec. 4).  
  • Establishes a civil fine of up to $250 for a qualifying patient or primary caregiver that violates the provisions of this bill (Sec. 4).
