Vote to pass a bill that prohibits an individual from possessing marijuana edibles.

Highlights:

• Prohibits individuals from possessing more than 3 grams of marijuana for preparing baked goods, candies, drinks, or other edibles (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that marijuana does not include non-psychoactive derivatives, extractives, compounds, or other components of the cannabis plant not previously defined (Sec. 1).

• Specifies punishments for violations of this act, including (Sec. 1):

• 8 days in county jail, a $300 fine, or both for a 1st offense;

• 30 days in county jail, a $1,000 fine, or both for a 2nd offense within 3 years; or

• 120 days in county jail, a $3,000 fine, or both for a 3rd offense within 3 years.

• Authorizes the court to require substance abuse treatment or up to 1 year’s probation for a violation in addition to, or in lieu of, other punishments (Sec. 1).
