Vote to pass a bill that rescinds school and road construction funds from a city or county that is not in compliance with state immigration law, effective August 1, 2016.

Highlights:

• Rescinds school and road construction funds for 1 fiscal year from a city or county found by the Attorney General to have violated state immigration law (Sec. 3).

• Authorizes an individual to report a city, county, or law enforcement agency that is not in compliance with state immigration law to the Attorney General (Sec. 3).

• Requires the Attorney General to begin an investigation of a city, county, or law enforcement agency within 45 days of receiving a report of a state immigration law violation (Sec. 3). 

• Prohibits a law enforcement officer from using a matricula consular or an identity document issued by an individual’s country of birth to determine the identity or residency of an individual (Sec. 2).
