Vote to pass a bill that prohibits conversion therapy on minors, effective January 1, 2017.

Highlights:

• Prohibits an individual licensed to practice professional counseling including, but not limited to, a physician, psychologist and social worker, from providing “conversion therapy” to a patient who is under 18 years of age (Sec. 1).

• Defines “conversion therapy” as any practices, treatments, or efforts that attempt to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity (Sec. 1).

• Classifies a violation of the provisions of this bill as engaging in unprofessional conduct and subject to discipline by a licensing authority (Sec. 1).
