Title: Prohibits Extending Sentences for Repeat Drug Offenders

Vote to pass a bill that repeals jail sentence extensions for repeat drug offenders.

Highlights:

  • Repeals existing law that adds a 3-year consecutive prison sentence for each prior conviction of certain drug crimes if an individual commits certain crimes, including, but not limited to the following crimes (Sec. 1):
    • The sale of or purchase with intent to sell certain Schedule I drugs;
    • The transportation, importation, sale, or administering of phencyclidine or any of its analogs; and
    • The manufacturing, processing, or preparation of certain Schedule I, II, III, IV or V drugs.
