Vote to concur with House amendments and adopt additional amendments to a bill that amends the structure and funding of the Department of Transportation.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the governor to appoint all of the members of the Commission of the Department of Transportation, with the advice and consent of the Senate (Sec. 1).

• Requires the governor to submit his transportation district appointees to the Senate and the House of Representatives to be referred to the appropriate legislative delegation for approval (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the Commission to appoint a Secretary of Transportation, with the advice and consent of the Senate (Sec. 2).

• Requires the Transportation Infrastructure Bank to receive approval from the Department of Transportation Commission before providing a loan to a qualified borrower or project (Sec. 5).

• Prohibits the Transportation Infrastructure Bank from providing loans or financial assistance to a project, unless the eligible costs of the project are at least $25 million (Sec. 6).

• Specifies that the current members of the Commission of the Department of Transportation and the secretary of transportation will continue to serve until their successors are appointed and confirmed under the provisions of this bill (Sec. 90).
