Vote to pass a bill that establishes an electronic voter registration system.

Highlights:

• Requires the following agencies to implement an electronic voter registration system by July 1, 2017 (Sec. 1):
• • The Motor Vehicle Administration;
  • The Maryland Health Benefit Exchange;
  • Local Departments of Social Services; and
  • The Mobility Certification Office in the Maryland Transit Administration.

• Specifies that an individual is authorized to decline to register to vote or update voter information (Sec. 1).

• Requires a public institution of higher education to provide a link to the online voter registration system on the home page of the online portal used by students to register for classes by July 1, 2017 (Sec. 1).
