Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the sale of certain fireworks, effective June 1, 2016.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a local government from limiting the sale of sparkling devices, novelties, or “aerial and audible devices” (Sec. 1).

• Defines “aerial and audible devices” as fireworks that contain up to 75 grams of an explosive chemical mixture per tube for a total of up to 500 grams for multiple tubes in a single device, including bottle rockets and roman candles (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that aerial and audible devices may only be sold from June 1 to July 10 (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes a city or town to establish an ordinance, rule, or regulation that prohibits or limits the sale of aerial and audible devices and novelties within the city or town (Sec. 1).
