Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the establishment of sanctuary cities.

Highlights:

• Prohibits all officials and governing authorities of municipalities from limiting or restricting federal immigration laws (Sec. 1).

• Requires all law enforcement officers to assist federal agencies in the enforcement of federal immigration laws (Sec. 2).

• Requires law enforcement agencies to notify federal immigration authorities of the incarceration of an undocumented immigrant and honor any federal detainer placed upon an undocumented immigrant (Sec. 1).

• Requires notifying the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Customs and Border Protection whenever an undocumented immigrant is discharged from prison or imposed a criminal fine (Sec. 2).

• Authorizes law enforcement agencies to transport undocumented immigrants to federal facilities or federal custody if the agency has verification that the individual is in the United States unlawfully (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that law enforcement officers are not liable in any civil action for an arrest based on probable cause and in good faith (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that this bill takes effect on July 1, 2016 (Sec. 3).
