Vote to pass a bill that requires an individual to present a valid photo identification document in order to vote.
Highlights:
- Requires an individual to present any of the following valid photo identification documents to a poll clerk in order to vote (Sec. 1):
- A state-issued driver’s license;
- A West Virginia identification card;
- A United States passport;
- An employee identification card issued by a federal or West Virginian agency;
- A student identification card issued by a West Virginia technical school or university; or
- A military identification card.
- Authorizes an individual who is unable to present a photo identification document to vote after he or she files an affidavit affirming his or her identity (Sec. 1).
