Vote to pass a bill that prohibits mental health providers from advertising or providing conversion therapy to individuals under the age of 18, effective January 7, 2059.

Highlights:

• Prohibits state-licensed mental health providers from advertising or engaging in “sexual orientation change efforts” on individuals less than 18 years of age (Sec. 2).

• Defines “sexual orientation change efforts” as the practice of attempting to change an individual’s sexual orientation or to reduce or eliminate sexual or romantic attractions or feelings toward am individual of the same gender (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that any individual or mental health provider who engages in or advertises the offering of sexual orientation change efforts is subject to disciplinary action by the appropriate professional licensing authority (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that sexual orientation change efforts do not include counseling for an individual seeking to transition from one gender to another or counseling that does not seek to change sexual orientation (Sec. 2).
