Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that authorizes an individual to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.

Highlights:
  • Authorizes an individual 21 years or older to carry a concealed deadly weapon without a permit if the following conditions are met (Sec. 1):
    • The individual is a United States citizen or legal resident; and
    • The individual is not prohibited from receiving, possessing or transporting a firearm.
  • Classifies the unauthorized possession of a concealed weapon without a permit for an individual under 21 years old with the following violations (Sec. 1):
    • A misdemeanor with a fine from $100 to $1,000 and possible imprisonment up to 12 months for the first offense; and
    • A felony with a fine from $1,000 to $5,000 and imprisonment of 1 to 5 years for a subsequent offense.
