Vote to pass a bill that prohibits a public school from contracting with an abortion services provider, effective June 30, 2017.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a school district or an educational services organization that contracts with a school district from contracting with an abortion services provider (Sec. 3).

• Prohibits a school district from authorizing an employee or volunteer of an abortion services provider to offer course materials or provide instruction relating to human sexuality or sexually transmitted diseases (Sec. 5).

• Requires a school to provide notification to parents at least 2 weeks in advance of a class, activity, or program that includes content about human reproduction or sexual matters (Sec. 1).

• Requires a school to receive written permission from a parent before a child is authorized to participate in a sexual education class, activity, or program (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that a parent is authorized to withdraw his or her child from a class, activity, or program to which the parent objects (Sec. 1).
