Vote to pass a bill that prohibits abortions after 22 weeks of pregnancy.
Highlights:
- Prohibits a medical professional from performing an abortion after 22 weeks of pregnancy, unless there is reasonable medical judgment that an abortion is necessary to preserve the life or health of the patient (Sec. 10).
- Requires a medical professional who performs an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy to preserve the life or health of the patient to perform the procedure in a manner to best ensure the fetus survives (Sec. 6).
- Classifies the performance of an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy by a medical professional as a class 1 misdemeanor, unless it is necessary to preserve the life or health of the patient (Sec. 3).
