Title: Establishes Funding Programs Related to Education

Vote to pass a bill that establishes performance-based funding programs for institutions and teachers, effective July 1, 2016.
Highlights:
- Requires the State Board of Education to award a Florida College System Performance-Based Incentive to Florida College System institutions using performance-based metrics (Sec. 1).
- Specifies that performance-based metrics will include certain measures including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):
- The institution’s retention rates; and
- The institutions program completion and graduation rates.
- Establishes the Florida Best and Brightest Teacher Scholarship Program to provide categorical funding for scholarships to be awarded to teachers who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement (Sec. 6).
