Title: Authorizes Landlords to Evict Tenants for Criminal Activity

Vote to pass a bill that authorizes landlords to evict tenants for criminal activity.
Highlights:
- Authorizes a landlord to terminate a tenancy without giving the tenant an opportunity to remedy the default, if the tenant, a member of the tenant’s household, or a guest engages in any criminal activity (Sec. 23).
- Specifies that a tenant does not need to have been arrested or convicted for the criminal activity for a landlord to terminate the tenancy (Sec. 23).
- Prohibits a local government from enacting an ordinance that requires a rental unit to be certified, registered or inspected without cause (Sec. 5).
- Prohibits a county, town board, or city from designating a property as a historic landmark without the consent of the property owner (Secs. 2-4).
