Vote to pass a bill that prohibits a state employers from inquiring about an applicant's criminal history.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a state agency from inquiring about whether a prospective employee has ever been arrested or convicted of a crime until the applicant receives a conditional offer of employment (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits a state agency from withdrawing a conditional offer of employment due to the applicant’s criminal history, except in the following cases (Sec. 1):
• The criminal history is directly related to the duties of the position;
• The position is designated as “sensitive” by the employer;
• The position is in a law enforcement agency; or
• The employer is required to perform.
