Vote to adopt an amendment to HR 3762 that authorizes the Attorney General to deny the transfer of firearms to an individual suspected of engaging in terrorism.
Highlights:
- Authorizes the Attorney General to deny the transfer of a firearm if he or she determines the following information (Sec. 2):
- The Attorney General determines that the transferee is known or “appropriately suspected” to be engaged in conduct related to terrorism; and
- The Attorney General has “reasonable belief” that the transferee may use a firearm in connection with terrorism.
- Specifies that “terrorism” includes international and domestic terrorism (Sec. 2).
