Vote to pass a bill that reduces regulations for the development of energy on Native American land.

Highlights:

• Requires the United States District Court for the District of Columbia to resolve the judicial review of an energy-related action no more than 180 days after the cause of action is filed (Sec. 5).

• Prohibits funds from being appropriated from the Claims and Judgement Fund to an individual or party for the judicial review of an energy-related action (Sec. 5).

• Exempts Native American land from rules from the Department of the Interior regarding the use of hydraulic fracturing to develop or produce oil or gas (Sec. 9).

• Authorizes the Navajo Nation to lease land for the exploration and extraction of mineral and geothermal resources, without the approval of the Secretary of the Interior, for up to 25 years (Sec. 8).

• Requires the Secretary of the Interior to provide written notice of approval or disapproval of a Native American land appraisal within 30 days of receiving the appraisal (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that if the Secretary does not approve or disapprove an appraisal 60 days after receiving it, the appraisal is approved (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that only members of a Native American tribe, individuals residing in an affected area, and a state are authorized to comment on a major federal energy-related action (Sec. 4).
