Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the state to hold a presidential preference primary at the same time as the statewide primary.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the state to hold a presidential preference primary election in conjunction with the statewide primary election on the last Tuesday in February of an even-numbered year (Secs. 7, 32 & 33).

• Prohibits a major political party from holding a precinct meeting until after the Secretary of State certifies the results of a presidential preference primary, if a preference primary is held (Sec. 4).

• Requires the state to pay for a presidential preference primary through the Reserve for Statutory Contingency Account (Sec. 37).
