Vote to pass a bill that establishes a 5-year inspection certificate for certain vehicles, effective September 1, 2015.
Highlights:
- Establishes a 5-year inspection certificate for vehicles that are less than 7 years old (Sec. 1).
- Prohibits certain vehicles from obtaining a 5-year inspection certificate, including, but not limited to, the following vehicles (Sec. 1):
- Vehicles in non-attainment areas that do not meet the national air quality standard under the Clean Air Act or Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations;
- Vehicles used for commercial purposes; and
- Vehicles used for student transportation.
