Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that establishes rules regarding the final disposition of an aborted fetus, effective January 1, 2016.

Highlights:

• Requires the Department of Health to establish rules for the disposal methods of an aborted fetus used by an abortion clinic or health care facility (Sec. 4).

• Authorizes a woman seeking an abortion to determine the final disposal method of the aborted fetus, including, but not limited to, the cremation or burial of a fetus with a gestational age of less than 20 weeks (Sec. 6).

• Specifies that the woman is responsible for any costs related to the disposal of the aborted fetus if she chooses a disposal method not required by law or Department of Health rules (Sec. 6).

• Requires an abortion clinic or health care facility to provide the woman seeking an abortion with the following information, orally and in writing (Sec. 5):
• A statement that authorizes the woman to determine the disposal method of the fetus;
• A statement about the options to dispose of the fetus; and
• A statement about counseling available to the woman after the abortion.
