Title: Amends Voting Regulations

Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that amends voting regulations and prohibits a voter from taking a photograph of a voting ballot, effective July 1, 2015.

Highlights:

  • Prohibits a voter from taking, sharing, or distributing a digital image or photograph of a ballot, unless the voter is doing so to document and report a problem with the functioning of the voting system (Sec. 112).
  • Authorizes the use of cellular telephones and other electronic devices at the polls, as long as electioneering or loud, disruptive conversations do not occur (Secs. 112 & 113).
  • Authorizes a voter to bring into the polling place a list of candidates and public questions for the voter’s use in voting, including lists kept on cellular telephones and other electronic devices (Sec. 114).
