Vote to pass a bill that repeals the certification of need requirement for hospital construction, effective January, 1, 2016.
Highlights:
- Repeals the requirement for a certificate of need to be presented before the following changes are made (Secs. 6-8 & 10):
- A hospital is built;
- A hospital is renovated; or
- A hospital expands its offering of advanced procedures.
- Requires all hospitals to adopt and implement fair and minimum standards ensuring that all minimum licensure requirements are met, effective July 1, 2015 (Sec. 8).
