Vote to pass a bill that amends the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS).

Highlights:

• Requires the minimum amount of the yearly TOPS tuition award paid to an eligible student at an eligible post-secondary educational institution to equal the award amount paid in the 2015-2016 award year for that institution, beginning with the 2016-2017 award year (Secs. 1& 2).

• Authorizes the legislature to increase the TOPS award amount, beginning with the 2016-2017 award year (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the increased award amount to be the new minimum amount awarded to a student (Sec. 1). 

• Prohibits the amount awarded to a student from being less than the amount paid for the previous award year at the college or university where the student is enrolled (Sec. 1).
