Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the sale of crib bumper pads that do not meet certain safety performance standards.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a commercial dealer, manufacturer, importer, distributor, wholesaler, or retailer from selling or leasing a “crib bumper pad” unless it meets the Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Infant Bedding and Related Accessories (Sec. 16).

• Defines “crib bumper pad” as any padding material that is used to cushion the inner sides of a crib, except mesh liners (Sec. 10).

• Establishes a civil penalty of at least $100 and up to $500 for a violation of this bill (Sec. 16).
