Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that prohibits a police department from identifying a police officer involved in an incident of deadly physical force.

Highlights:

  • Prohibits a police department from disclosing the name of a police officer involved in an incident which included deadly physical force and resulted in the death or serious injury of an individual for 60 days after the incident (Sec. 2).
  • Exempts a police department from the provisions of this bill in certain circumstances including, but not limited to, the following circumstances (Sec. 2):
    • The officer is arrested or formally charged for actions related to the incident;
    • The officer gives written consent to disclose his or her name; or
    • The criminal investigation of the incident is complete.
