Title: Prohibits Students from Using Facilities Designated for the Opposite Sex

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits students from using school facilities designated for the opposite biological sex.

Highlights:

  • Requires that any school facility in a public school, including a restroom, locker room, or shower, which is designated for use by individuals of one “biological sex”,  be used only by individuals of that “biological sex” (Sec. 1).
  • Defines “biological sex” as the biological condition of being male or female as determined at birth based on physical differences or, if necessary, at the chromosomal level (Sec. 1).
  • Requires public schools to provide separate, private areas designated for use by students based on their biological sex in any facility or setting where a student may be in a state of undress (Sec. 1).
  • Requires public schools to provide accommodations for a student that identifies him or herself as a gender other than his or her biological sex access to the following facilities (Sec. 1):
    • A single-stall restroom;
    • A unisex restroom;
    • A faculty restroom;
    • A faculty locker room; or
    • A faculty shower.
