Vote to pass a bill that limits health insurance coverage for abortions.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a health insurance policy offered through a health care exchange from providing coverage for abortions, except in the following circumstances (Sec. 1):
• Whenever it is necessary to save the life of the woman having the abortion;
• Whenever it is necessary to avert the “substantial or irreversible” impairment of a major bodily function of the woman having the abortion; or
• Whenever the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest.

• Requires a qualified medical professional to inform a patient 24 hours prior to an abortion about the potential ability to reverse the effects of an abortion induced by medication and that information on, and assistance with, reversing the effects is available on the Department of Health Services’ website (Sec. 4).
