Title: Requires the Redistricting of Wake County

Vote to pass a bill that requires the redistricting of Wake County.

Highlights:

  • Increases the size of the Wake County Board of Commissioners from 7 to 9 members (Sec. 1).
  • Requires 7 of the 9 members of the Board of Commissioners to reside and run in the numbered, single-member districts used by the Board of Education for electoral districts, and serve 4-year terms, effective in the 2018 election (Sec. 1).
  • Requires 2 members of the Board of Commissioners to reside and run in the lettered districts used by the Board of Education for electoral districts and serve 4-year terms, effective in the 2016 election (Sec. 1).
