Title: Authorizes Execution by Electrocution

Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the the Department of Corrections to use the electric chair for executions in certain circumstances.

Highlights:

  • Authorizes the department to use electrocution as a method of execution in the following circumstances (Sec. 1):
    • Execution by lethal injection is found to be unconstitutional; or
    • Execution by lethal injection cannot be carried out due to the unavailability of one or more of the necessary ingredients for the execution.
  • Specifies that any identifying information of an individual or entity that manufactures, supplies, or administers the drugs used in an execution, and of an individual who participates in an execution, is confidential and not subject to disclosure (Sec. 1).
