Vote to pass a bill that establishes automatic voter registration through the Department of Transportation.
Highlights:
- Requires the Department of Transportation to provide electronic records containing the legal name, age, residence and citizenship information, and electronic signature of an individual who meets voter requirements to the Secretary of State (Sec. 1).
- Requires the secretary to provide the electronic records to the county clerk of the county in which the individual is eligible to vote (Sec. 1).
- Requires the county clerk to use the individual’s electronic record and signature to constitute a completed voter registration card (Sec. 1).
