Vote to pass a bill that authorizes an individual to consume raw milk they receive from a shared animal ownership agreement.

Highlights:

• Authorizes an individual to enter into a written shared animal ownership agreement to consume raw milk provided the individual meets requirements including, but not limited to, the following (Sec. 1):
• The individual acquires a percentage ownership interest in a milk-producing animal; 
• The individual acknowledges the inherent dangers of consuming raw milk; and
• The individual agrees not to distribute the raw milk.

• Requires at least 1 of the parties in the agreement to report the agreement to the Commissioner of Public Health and the Commissioner of Agriculture (Sec. 1).

• Requires an animal that is the subject of a shared animal ownership agreement to meet health requirements for milk-producing animals established by the state veterinarian (Sec. 1).

• Requires a diagnosing physician who determines that an individual is ill due to the consumption of raw milk to report information concerning the diagnosis to a local health official (Sec. 1).
