Vote to pass a bill that requires waivers for certain health insurance.

Highlights:

• Requires the Arizona Medicaid Program to establish an employment requirement for otherwise eligible individuals to apply for coverage (Sec. 1).
• Requires an individual that is physically and mentally capable of working and is at least 19 years of age to meet at least 1 of the following conditions on a monthly basis to receive benefits (Sec. 1):
• The individual is actively employed;
• The individual is actively seeking employment;
• The individual actively attends a school and/or job training program at least 20 hours per week; or
• The individual reports any change in family income.
• Exempts an individual from employment requirements if any of the following criteria are met (Sec. 1):
• The individual is the sole caregiver of a family member less than 6 years old;
• The individual is receiving temporary or permanent long-term disability benefits;
• The individual is at least 19 years of age and is attending high school as a full-time student; or
• The individual has been determined to be physically or mentally unfit for employment by a health care professional.
• Specifies that an individual is limited to receiving benefits for a maximum of 5 years, unless the following conditions are met (Sec. 1).
• The individual is pregnant;
• The individual is the sole caregiver of a family member less than 6 years old;
