Title: Authorizes the Use of Diverse Farming and Ranching Practices

  • Prohibits the General Assembly from passing a law that “unreasonably” limits the right of farmers and ranchers to employ or refuse to employ “effective” agricultural technology and livestock production and ranching practices (Sec. 2). 
  • Specifies that this section does not modify the following types of law (Sec. 2):

NOTE: AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION REQUIRES MAJORITY APPROVAL IN EACH CHAMBER IN TWO SUCCESSIVE SESSIONS. IT MUST THEN BE APPROVED BY A MAJORITY OF CITIZENS VOTING IN THE NEXT ELECTION TO BECOME ENACTED.
