Vote to adopt a conference report that requires legislative approval for salary increases for certain agency head positions.

Highlights:

  • Requires the Legislative Coordinating Commission to approve, reject, or modify recommendations for salaries submitted by the governor or other appointing authority for governor-appointed agency head positions, effective July 2, 2015 (Secs. 1-3 & 10).
  • Prohibits the salary rate for governor-appointed positions from being set at a rate in excess of the previous calendar year, effective the day following the date of enactment of this bill and June 30, 2015 (Secs. 4 & 10). 
  • Appropriates the following funds from the General Fund to certain agencies, effective the day following the date of enactment of this bill (Secs. 5-10):
    • $10,683,000 to the Department of Human Services; 
    • $2,000,000 to the Department of Health to provide grants to eligible hospitals and the Emergency Medical Services Board;
    • $1,350,000 to the Zoological Board;
    • $891,200 to the Department of Health for statewide planning and response for activities related to Ebola between July 1, 2014, and June 30, 2016; and
    • $568,000 to the Department of Natural Resources.
