Highlights:

  • Defines a “construction defect” as having the following qualities (Sec. 6):
    • The defect presents an unreasonable risk of injury to a person or property; or
    • The defect is not completed in a “good and workmanlike” manner and causes physical damage to the residence.
  • Prohibits an owner from taking legal action for a construction defect 6 years after the completion of his or her residence (Sec. 17).
