Vote to pass a bill that expands the defines solid waste as a renewable energy source.

Highlights:

  • Expands the definition of “renewable energy resources” to include the following resources (Sec. 11):
    • Municipal solid waste, including both the biogenic and anthropogenic fractions; and 
    • Fuel that has been manufactured in whole or significant part from waste, including, but not limited to, municipal solid waste.
  • Expands the definition of “renewable energy” to include energy steam generated using a renewable energy facility (Sec. 11).
