Highlights:

  • Prohibits the use of “ultraviolet tanning devices” by an individual under 18 years of age without a written prescription from a physician (Sec. 2).
  • Defines “ultraviolet tanning device” as equipment that emits electromagnetic radiation for tanning of the skin, including, but not limited to, the following devices (Sec. 1):
    • A sunlamp;
    • A tanning booth; and
    • A tanning bed.
  • Classifies a violation of this bill as a civil penalty with a fine of no more than $250 per violation (Sec. 3). 
  • Requires a government-issued form of photographic identification listing an individual’s date of birth to satisfy the age requirements of this bill (Sec. 2).
