Vote to adopt an amendment to SB 523 that authorizes "chicken boxing" under certain conditions.

Highlights:

• Prohibits the criminalization of chicken boxing provided all conditions including, but not limited to, the following are met: 
• There will be no blades, gaffs, spurs, or knives are used or permitted;
• There will be a veterinarian present to ensure safety of combatants;
• There will be sparring muffs or fowl safety boxing gear used by each combatant at all times during the boxing match; and
• There will be no gambling or wagering permitted with respect to the "chicken boxing" match.

• Specifies that the bill’s provisions cannot be construed as cockfighting, participation in cockfighting, or cruelty to animals.
